Harry Potter author JK Rowling has said she would prefer two years in jail over using a trans person’s correct pronouns.

If JK Rowling chooses to call someone something different than what they prefer, what’s to stop us from collectively deciding that her name is Sarah Smith, seems like she doesn’t care so why should we.

I would prefer to not live in a place that would put someone in jail for something as asinine as pronoun usage.

Good news, you do live in that place, because this is an entirely made up scenario painted by an entitled bigot in an attempt to cast herself as the victim. No one is going or has ever gone to jail for using the wrong pronouns.

oh yeah I read it. Thats what I meant. Her hypothetical has a lot more issues than her particular beliefs. So I meant it as. Why would you be worried about X when you society for some reason is putting folks in prison for speech. That would be a way bigger issue.

Is there even a law requiring the proper pronoun be used for a person? Seems like you could be a dick and call everyone by the wrong pronoun and still not go to jail.

Should you get jail time for using the wrong pronouns No. Should someone be able to sue you in civil court for using the wrong pronouns in a malicious form especially in a public form.

Can she fuck off for two years then, please? And then do so again after that, and again, and again…
