We need someone posting the MTG news on Lemmy!
Quick summary:
- Bad to the Bone, featuring biker skeletons on discard-themed cards. Money card is [[Tinybones, Trinket Thief]].
- Death is Temporary, Metal is Forever, featuring metal-looking cards themed around [[Nekusar, the Mindrazer]]. Money card is [[Waste Not]].
- Goblin and Squabbin’, featuring, um, Goblins. Money cards are [[Goblin Lackey]] and [[Goblin Recruiter]].
- The Stars Gaze back, featuring some funky-looking Elementals, including [[Omnath, Locus of Rage]]. They couldn’t give us 4C Omnath? Well alright.
- Artist Series: Ryan Alexander Lee, featuring big cool creatures. Money cards are [[Twilight Prophet]] and [[Worldspine Wurm]].
- More Adventures in Middle-Earth, featuring some LTR cards with art from the old animated movies. Nothing of value in terms of card prices, but maybe you’ll like the art.
- Featuring: The Mountain Goats, featuring basic Mountains with Lorwyn art/flavor text (no actual [[Mountain Goat]]).
I really wanna grab the Goblin’ one to throw in my goblin deck… I use the same artist’s ooze cards in my slime deck currently.
I NEED THOSE FUCKINBG SKELETOHNS
Oh god the LTR SL is atrociously bad!!!
Yeah, you could make the point that they didn’t know what the prices of the cards would shake out to be when they commissioned the Lair, but they still picked all commons and uncommons here! Really, really bad value even if the art is cool, but people will probably buy it anyway.
Thanks for posting this! Crossing my fingers that this makes [[tinybones]] just slightly less expensive because I want one for my cube. I don’t know how these drops generally affect price.
Occasionally if a card was super expensive just because it hadn’t been reprinted, the new one will drop the price some; a good example I know of is with [[Sarkhan, Dragonsoul]] who was like $25 before the lair, but the lair print is now only like $5. But usually they don’t budge it that much. [[Craterhoof Behemoth]] had a lair where they gave you two copies, and it’s dropped a bit from its peak of $40, but it’s still pretty expensive.
With Tinybones I’m afraid the price of the new one will probably be quite high, since the art looks cool, and the price of the old versions won’t change much. But it’ll probably go down at least a little, so better than nothing, right?
I see the card fetcher isn’t actually implemented here, btw. Is there a way we can do that? I haven’t seen anything from the mods.
There’s a magic Lemmy instance now with tons of communities on mtgzone.com, they also have card fetcher support!
Yeah I noticed the main MTG zone community surpassed this community in subscribers; maybe I’ll focus on posting there first. I cross-posted this post over there. It’s probably good to support a dedicated MTG instance.
Though I tried testing the card fetcher bot there and it doesn’t seem to be working, unless I’m doing something wrong?
