The first line is Marx, but the rest is Adam Smith. Book 1, Chapter 6 of Wealth of Nations.

I don’t think it’s appropriate to call Smith and/or Marx tankies. That’s the joke. Criticising capitalism and exploitation is not exclusively a communist/tankie stance
