Basically the title.

I’d love to create a community to replace my small subreddit, but I am am not sure how to do so. So far I have only used jerboa to participate. I have an account through lemmy.world and one through sopuli.xyz because I don’t know what I’m doing! Any guidance is appreciated.

    This is what I did:

Lemmy.world, On iPhone, in the browser, on the upper right hand corner there is a button with three horizontal lines. Tap that to open a menu, then tap “Create Community”

I don’t know if that will work with Jerboa though

Will not work with Jerboa. Jerboa is very limited atm. It can’t do community creation or first time community pulls from another instance.

Great for browsing, voting and commenting: anything more complex, use a browser atm.

I got tired of switching and just use browser (installed) now. Looking forward to apps improving, though.

I suggest switching to another app. I’m using Liftoff right now and its been great (its currently not in Playstore, but you can download the apk in their Github)

Liftoff is amazing. I wish I could remember how I got linked into the beta so I could share. I’m on iOS but glad to see it’s on Android too.

Edit: there’s a link to the testflight here: https://lemmy.world/post/687883

It has to be allowed by your instance, and you have to do it via the website.
