Religion is the opioid addiction of the masses (to paraphrase). How hard it must be to have to deal with life on realistic terms and solve problems using human ingenuity instead of a reliance on a supernatural entity to shower you with good or bad outcomes. I guess it’s just easier not to have to shoulder the responsibility of being each other’s keeper and helper on this planet.
