1. always rack to a 2ndary. It’ll avoid solids in later steps.
  2. solids will clog a bottling wand. This may or may not be related to #1.
  3. be careful when cleaning bottling wands, because garbage disposals will eat the spring. This may or may not be related to #2.

You took one for the team. Keep us updated! I had a gallon of fresh raw apple juice that I’m using to make a half ass lambic. It’s slowly settling. Did you use anything to fine it before racking? Is that the right term? Using gelatin or isinglass, etc.

I didn’t use anything. Not a fan of additives unless necessary. Maybe it was necessary, lol.

LOL it’s my first brew, I don’t know. I’ve got a packet of bentonite, a packet of plain gelatin, I don’t think it could hurt to pick one and try to get the particles of funk and starch to settle. “‘I have read a lot of books about this’, she said calmly as she sat down at the helm.”

I would sugest to dont bother with cleaning it for first brew. From what I heard it makes neglegable diference in taste but it is clear.

I don’t bother with it and had lots of perfectly drinkable cider.

Ok! Thank you. I don’t care if it’s hazy or not.
