The federal government is going back to the future to help solve three problems: vacant office space, global warming and high housing costs.

    Kind of weird for the federal government to get involved in this. Housing policy, especially small bore issues like building conversions, is usually (rightfully) the domain of local government.

      Interesting - although my reading of this is that the federal government is seeking to promote/incentivise such conversions, rather than that it’s (for example) going in over local government’s head to impose zoning reforms.
