I’ve heard multiple people express distrust at giving a third party website their login credentials. I trust the WefWef team, but their concern is understandable. So I decided to host it myself!
Made a few minor changes to the code to lock it down to only login to my instance.
This is cool. I wonder if it could become folded into Lemmy proper, so each instance has the “app.” sub-domain as standard (or toggle enable)?
I must say, I really don’t like the name, can’t bring myself to type it!
I doubt wefwef would be folded into Lemmy, but Elk is deployed alongside a bunch of the major Mastodon instances, including universeodon.com (elk.universeodon.com)
This is awesome. I’m planning on making a feature to customize the default instance with an environment variable so no forking required :-)
