Anyone know anything about this guy? Doesn’t look like he was exactly a points machine for WIS last year. Maybe the coaches see potential in athleticism or something?

    The guy was considered a possible top 10 pick just a year prior, and then had a terrible first year in college on a bad team. He was one of the youngest players in the league, and while not ideal, it gives some good reasons to hope he can improve. Other factors to consider, it takes big power forwards longer to develop typically. They need to grow into their bodies and learn how to use it. We also added Heidt in the 2nd round, who is a smaller and a riskier scoring oriented center. We have a really good group of prospects right now, and adding three decent center prospects is a huge boon to an already deep system. So while the Stramel pick was probably a bit of a reach, he fits in well with our prospects adding some serious bulk down the middle. Time will tell if he was another Boldy style diamond in the rough, but at least he seems to have the floor of a bruising middle six center.

    He will be in the minors a while. Could develop into something with some coaching.
