That entire arc needs to be tossed into the trash heap of non-canonicity right alongside “I’m half-human on my mother’s side.”
Chibnall was a hack and Whitaker’s Doctor deserved so much better.
It makes me sad that she is leaving and we will never see her full potential. She is now one of my favorite Doctors but without any great episodes to rewatch.
While I don’t necessarily share that opinion on Jodie, that is why I hope she does Big Finish, they have taken my most hated Doctors (Colin Baker and Paul Mcgann) and turned them into two of my favorites
These two posts. The duality of man.
Yeah, but Doctor Who canon contradicts itself enough that you can pick and choose what you think is objectively true. So just do that.
I’m one of the people who enjoys the possibilities that Timeless Child has brought. It may be years or even decades before we really see it explored further, but I feel like it really deepens the aspect that even when you strip away the memories that make the Doctor who they are, their true nature is still to help others and be a beacon of hope.
I like the storyline too, it’s not a bad idea just badly written. The Master killing the Timelords again was a bummer though- there was a lot of story potential there that Chibnall just completed decimated.
Chiball just didn’t have the talent to run or write into the decades of history the show had. It’s so bad for Jodie who could have been amazing. Both timeless child and Ruth were absolutely terribly executed lore events.
