What are the chances the situation gets better again? Will people drop their hate once the fervor dies down and the conflict cools again?

    • People often justify their hate with perceived injuste.

Ideas such as Jews controlling the media or economy are widespread among the french society. These things can be adressed only with a lot of education, community building and social efforts. The kind of efforts that are happily cut from funding by neoliberal, conservative and fascist politics.

Another aspect are organisations that aim to radicalise people. These need to be adressed by charging and convicting all hate crimes and those inciting them. However there it is also crucial to differentiate between violent and criminal groups. By supressing moderate positions and organizations it feeds into the injustice, that then motivates people to radicalise. Unfortunately in Germany the government has been eager to ban most protests against Israels bombing of Gaza and cultural organizations have kicked out all Palestinian voices, like an author whose book about Nakba was initially sheduled to receive a prize at a bok fair.

Finally the atrocities commited by state actors need to be tried and convicted. If the western governments want to reclaim legitimcay and the superiority of the rule of law, they need to apply the law to war criminals irrespective of political allegiance. Enabling the ICC to try and convict members of the Israeli government, the IDF and Israeli settler terrorists, as well as members of western Governments, Arms companies and others who are responsibile for or proffiting of war crimes and crimes against humanity is pivotal to restore justice. Only when justice rules allegations of injustice can be challenged successfully and the rug be pulled under those who are hateful and those who are instilling more hate.

        community building

What does this mean and how can it rectify antsemitic beliefs?

        Israeli settler terrorists

        Okay, very nuanced. Thanks.

it is much harder to hate people you talk with, share activities with and feel being part of your community. You can see this very easily in Germany, where the strongest opposition to any form of immigration and the most racism is in areas, where there is very little actual immigrants.

          Okay, very nuanced. Thanks.

What is that supposed to mean? There is many illegal settlers that regularly murder Palestinians in the West Bank, while being defended by IDF and not facing legal repercussions most of the time. This is an integral part to the injustice of the Israeli occupation.

As long as the Jewish terrorists in occupied territories are not held accountable, it forms a basis for claims that Jews would get special treatment and hold political power behind the scences in Europe too. Since the current Israeli government is unwilling to hold its own terrorists accountable, they should be tried by the ICC instead.

Israelis will never be brought to justice for war crimes. Israel hides behind the US and UK in the UN Security Council who veto anything that seeks to punish Israel and they also have European Governments like Germany as well as the Western media, lobby groups and think tanks doing their bidding. If there were real world consequences against Israel for murdering children and bombing hospitals I don’t think there would be blowback against Jewish population.
