My family is planning on taking a visit to Utah, see Antelope Valley, maybe some hiking and mountain biking. I’ve seen beautiful pictures of Utah and know there is lots to do but are there any specific suggestions y’all have? We’re gonna be staying at Lake Powell so any attractions around there would be great. I want to make the most out of my experience.
Hiking is a must. Any public land and hike to its highest elevation or scenic vista. The state is full of wide spaces that are great to disconnect for a couple of days when you can.
Sorry It’s been 8 days since your post (just found this community).
Looks like Lake Powell is right near Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument
Bryce Canyon is further (trippy says about 3 hours from Lake Powell)
About 5 hours away from Lake Powell is Zion National Park
Moab area is further, but you have both Arches and Canyonlands National Parks
Not sure how far you’d want to drive. On the north eastern end of the state is Dinosaur National Monument
Salt Lake and most major cities are in the north west area of the state. Hope that help
Wow thanks for all the information. I’ll definitely be checking these out.
Apart from the hiking and mountain biking, what other activities do you think my family should do?
I assume you mean Antelope Canyon? Where exactly are you staying? Sorta near Page, AZ? I ask because Antelope Canyon is near and Lake Powell is not small. Zion and Bryce national parks are pretty great but they’re a couple hours or more from Page itself. Grand Canyon is a similar distance and it’s quite the place to visit obviously.
