Quick question, how do you embed your gifs without them being uploaded to your local lemmy instance as an mp4? If I try to use the url of a gif from a remote media server in a post, my instance just converts it to an mp4 and uses that instead of the url.
I uploaded this from Memmy. That said, I had that same problem when uploading from the site today.
The workaround I found is to host the GIF somewhere else, like on a Pixelfed instance.
