in a few hours, mawawala na rin ang boost for reddit. the official app is stupid at yun lang ung pinaka ok na alternative. it made me learn more about reddit and helped me stumble upon the RDs that became a safe haven during the pandemic. i also learned about the old legends from other subs, and that recent ph history thread only proved that there was a thriving community in that site. sad to see a lot of redditors leave (and/or limit their usage). taena kasi ni spez eh haha napasenti tuloy ng wala sa oras bwiset dhjdjd

Ang plano ko, July 1 ako magpapaalam sa Reddit, pero dahil sa disgusting outcome ng botohan sa r/Philippines noong June 19, I decided to leave Reddit prematurely.

Di ko talaga gets ito. Maraming instances naman na pwede nilang salihan, kung talagang ayaw nila ng Lemmy, pwede naman silang mag-Kbin.

Given the activity levels nung communities sa alternatives, parang di naman ata nag-watak-watak? I dunno about Tiles kung merong mga napadpad dun. But it seems to me that a lot of those who left Reddit congregated here. Sure, network effects sucks, but without people actually going away from Reddit, populating their preferred alternative, failing that, moving to their second-most preferred alternative, etc, and so on until their “at least it’s not Reddit” platform of choice, eh tama nga siguro siya–panalo talaga ang Reddit.

Or answering some questions that I’ve left rotting in the backrooms of my brain, like "how does the Metro Manila-Rizal-Bulacan tripoint look like? Found a picture of it just now, it’s a fairly innocent-looking point in a stream. No markers nor anything. Well, mejo remote area rin naman kasi siya.
But yeah! Even just idly exploring, with no aim in particular, is soothing.

Really feeling conflicted about this. That the reborn station is a joint venture with a Romualdez company, just makes me feel icky about it.
I know I may just be a bit too hysterical about this, I don’t trust that station–not yet, at least. They really need to prove that they’re willing to stand up against people in power, even the very ones that fund them.
