Starmer needs to change his position. Labour is so afraid of being seen as anti semitic they have lost sight of Israel being a state not a religion.

    Archive link.

Seems a pathetic hill to die on. There is nothing the Labour party can do to invoke a ceasefire in Gaza. Israel cares nothing for the UK or its opinions, let alone the opinions of an opposition party.

The US just signed a bill to increase military aid to Israel. Seems like a roundabout way to convince them to cease hostilities.

The Labour Party’s worst enemy is the Labour Party.

I mean, for fuck’s sake. They’re 20 points ahead in the polls, they have to literally do nothing to win the next election. And yet here they are fighting over some shit we can’t even do anything about.

The electorate know we can’t do anything about it and no one is going to change their vote based on a declared position either way (certainly not enough to make a difference anyway), but they will change their vote if they just see a bunch of children arguing with each other.

These fucks expelled Corbyn and coup’ed the party because he supported Palestine and rightly called Israel a genocidal apartheid state (and he is a socialist).

They will support Israel to the end. They are neoliberal hawks, who want to be the Democrats so bad.

I’m baffled by the comments here. We moan continuously that our politicians are only out for themselves, and then when they actually stand up for something they believe in (with a risk that it will actively harm both their party, and their own personal prospects) we moan that they’re being foolish and should tow the company line.

Resigning from your party over a difference in opinion on something we have zero control over is just tedious posturing.
