I’m in California and I’ve been looking at some options from VW, Mini Cooper, Chevy, though a lot of these options are kinda pricey when my budget is 15k, maybe 20k max. Any options you guys have for a good quality car within that price range that can drive maybe 200 miles. I’m probably asking for a lot here 😅.
You might be able to find a used Leaf in that price range. I’ve got one from 2019 with 230 mile range. New, it was $31k after the tax credit so that’d be right out, unless you can find a really good deal from dealers wanting to move inventory with the Leaf being discontinued.
Quality’s been pretty good overall. There was an issue with the distance sensor that was covered under warranty, and a few minor things like a speaker buzzing that the dealer also fixed. Other than that it’s been rock solid, so if you can find a used one, it should still work great.
Yeah so, so far my options have been limited to a used leaf or chevy bolt ev. Hopefully I can find a good deal somewhere.
Your best bet is going to be a used Leaf Plus (for the range) or a Bolt. Also, be sure to see if you are elgigble for the federal incentive on used EVs: https://www.irs.gov/credits-deductions/used-clean-vehicle-credit
