Back in April, Nikki Haley delivered a speech at Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America’s headquarters that left officials from the anti-abortion group disappointed and positioned her as an outlier in the field.

The former U.N. ambassador declined to call for a federal 15-week limit on the procedure and spoke broadly about “sensitivity” and finding “national consensus.” Anti-abortion activists warned that her approach would alienate base voters.

There’s no way for Republicans to win on abortion. They can try to message better, or rather lie, but their actions are the tell.

FTA: declaring that she remains personally opposed but does not “judge anyone for being pro-choice.”

Which to me is wishy-washy bullshit for “I’ll say anything to get elected but I prefer to say nothing.” Good luck trying to be pro-choice when she pushes for a nationwide ban.

Lol, she never once said she opposed a nation wide ban during the debate. She attacked the idea that a nation wide ban could be passed given the current make up of the Senate and a need for 60 votes. Rest assured if a ban could be passed, as president she would sign it.

This is their game plan moving forward… which was the old game plan of “don’t say the quiet part out loud.”

Exactly! She could wishy-washy her way into the white house though if she can get past trump and the Republicans coalesce around her.

If she only had a record to check… oh, wait, she does:

Haley has consistently supported bills that give rights to an unborn baby and restrict abortion, except when the mother’s life is at risk. In 2006, as a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives, Haley voted for the Penalties for Harming an Unborn Child/Fetus law, which asserted that an act of violence against a fetus is akin to a criminal act against the mother. She has also re-signed a new state law that bans abortions at 20 weeks of pregnancy.[38]

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_positions_of_Nikki_Haley

Haley is opposed to Jail or Death Penalty for women who have abortions.[41][42][43]

Is that the moderate republican position?

I mean if you had to pick someone to force this type of law on people, you’d have to be stupid to not see a woman as the spokesperson. Yet shockingly this woman doesn’t quite want to be supporting the policies all these old men think is necessary.

Tammy Lahren learned that the hard way.
