Us wanting Chelsea to pick up results against top 6 sides is testament to how shit they’ve been. If they can hold on to this lead against City it will be great for us
Chel$ea are shit. but they actually play “good” when teams come at them. I can’t believe I am hoping for Chel$ea to be good, but here we are.
Poch will have them playing good, attractive, attacking football with a high press, and they will show up to play. That being said I think their underdog status gives them a leg up against bigger teams, but they will struggle to break down mid or low blocks.
Overall they will be good, but that has more to do with no European midweek games and I think they struggle in the league next year if they get an EL slot, but I don’t see that happening as there are too many teams who are better.

Well I typed out an essay and somehow made it disappear 😭. So here I go again.
Short answer: they can spent another 2b in the same manner they spent the first and they will be exactly where they llare now.
Long answer: Clubs like Barca, Chelsea, PSG, United, have mis spent money in a way, and at a level, that is mind boggling and each has its own mountain to overcome. In Chelsea’s case, they did too much, too fast, and to such a degree that I believe they will be in BIG trouble in 4-5 years of they don’t secure CL every year.
Mark my words, Chelsea is playing with fire and if they don’t turn things around fast, it will get very ugly. Barca is is the same boat IMO, but I figure Barca will have an easier time digging itself out from its own grave.
@Gingerrific i hear you, especially with those long term contracts they tied down. But they have a very good coach so they should be pretty good if some of that money was spent on real talent

They are much better than last year, and Poch at least has them ticking offensively, however Chelsea’s defense isn’t the greatest and that will be what hold them back the most IMO.
