Donald Trump could soon be facing additional indictments from the Department of Justice, The Independent reports. The DOJ has made preparations for a “superseding indictment,” which are additional charges that may include allegations of more serious crimes against a defendant, according to the report.

I don’t care which side of the aisle you’re on, if you’re a government official and are found guilty of breaking the law you should get punished. We voted for you and trusted you in power and you took advantage of that.

Now, if only the ~40% of the population that votes Republican could openly agree with that (and actually mean it).

I’m starting to think this isn’t all just for show.

Until he’s in fact convicted…. And in jail and not immediately pardoned…. It’s all just for show.

Granted Jack smith doesn’t fuck around, and I don’t think he’s really the type to do a dog and pony show…. But….

Guiliani’s proffer agreement means that A) they’ve got enough on Guiliani to make cooperating a more attractive option than not, and B) that there’s Guiliani testimony that’s more valuable than indicting Guiliani on whatever they have him on.

He’ll never be incarcerated. Too much of a security risk.

I’ll settle for home confinement with no internet & very, very limited visitors.

Any security risk trump poses is in fact an argument for locking him up. His house is not designed as a prison, and unless he is cut off from his followers totally there is always a chance they will be persuaded to break him out.

Further, he’s demonstrated he cannot keep his mount shut, and a house arrest scenario will never fully preclude the kinds of guests to which he might “brag”

Knowing how the justice system in this country works, he will probably get some incredible deal like Epstein originally did (and El Chapo maybe? I forget), and build a new fucking house specifically to hold him.

Best part is it’s only just beginning. It is going to be so much fun watching that corrupt piece of shit have his entire world fall apart around him. He was looking so positively grey skinned and cowed today “sniff… I’m legitimate”.

I scorned the Independent when they reported a few weeks ago that Trump would be indicted “tomorrow.” None of the usual journalists in the know confirmed, and plenty of reasonably reliable experts cast doubt on it. And then the next day came, and lo and behold, the indictment was issued.

All this to say, I don’t take the report as gospel, but I take it seriously.

Cool but will the charges matter? I dunno, I feel I have no faith anything will actually come of this. I 100% imagine he’s guilty but also 100% believe this won’t matter to a majority of Republican voters. Can these trials be finished in the few short months before the Republican primaries? Can they proceed if trump is leading the pack?
