Trump has no genuine beliefs, only motives for saying he believes something.
I believe he repeats these lies often enough that it alters his memory of events. It happens to normal people, who aren’t actively lying, for less. And since he’s surrounded by sycophants, it only reinforces the phenomenon.
Basically, he lives in a fantasy of his own making and should probably be committed.

That’s exactly it. No one has ever said to him “no”, or “you’re wrong” or “you can’t do that”. He’s surrounded himself with sycophantic cowards.
