    Ruud (a lemmy.world admin) was saying in another post somewhere that “big” communities are slow to post and/or comment. He hasn’t figured out why, but presumably there’s some database query that who’s cost is proportional to subscriber-count, post-count, or similar.

    The upshot is there’s nothing that you’re doing wrong, and admins are working to investigate. If they ask you for details or help testing maybe do what you can to provide the requested information… otherwise sit tight and give them time to get to the bottom of it.

      hmm, i’m not trying to post in big communities, they’re actually communities with nothing in them. They’re 2 communiteis which i’ve started and which I would like to start growing.

        I’m stumped then . My best guess is to fall back to “things are busy right now”. lemmy.world has like 3x the active user count of what was previously the largest Lemmy instance ever last week. Maybe give it a few days after the blackout and re-report it with links to communities that behave each way if an admin doesn’t chime in here first.
