Everyone is blowing this out of proportion. If third party apps are going to make money off of the back of Reddit it’s only fair they pay up.
As far as the protests right now I see it as a form of brigating Reddit site wide. All the subs and their moderators should be permanently suspended for engaging in this behavior imo.
I was permanently banned from r/196 for attempting to have a civil debate on the trans issue so it won’t surprise me if I get a permanent suspension here as well for once again attempting to have a civil debate.
Civil discourse is the only way forward ✌️& 💛

I’m pretty sure Infinity (the app I use) makes around 0 bucks from me using it. There’s no ads, nothing, the experience is great, and the dev(s?) do it for free. Reddit is trying to make up excuses for seizing control of the user experience, and that’s just monopolising. Reddit’s only service is as a big, searchable database.
“brigading site wide” that’s a pretty interesting take to say the least. A lot of people disagree with reddit, and they’re showing it with how little power they have. What are we supposed to do, hang there and accept cactuses up our asses ?
