    Also, no blue or purple Tieflings

    But then we all know that the Player’s Handbook, p.42 disagrees… as does the Sword Coast Adventurer’s guide, p. 118 for the not so small fraction playing in Faerûn or some world derived from it.

        Spend too much time with RAW fanatics. And given that even this meme kind of pretends that home brew is the opposite of RAW not acknowledging RAI in any way, I tend to think there are a lot of those. So you always need to know were their RAW is actually contradicted in the rules and which rules don’t even work as written and should be considered RAI. It’s the best repellent against those people.

          RAW = “Rules As Written”

          RAI = “Rules As Interpreted”

          Sometimes there’s a difference between the way a rule is worded and the way it’s played at a table.

          Critical fails/successes on skill checks would be house rules/homebrew, though.

    This is entirely up to each DM and their players. DnD was never meant to have a codified set of rules. I’ve always taken them as advice.

    Seduction is RAW, it’s called Persuasion (or Deception) and likely has a high DC.

    DM should re-read the rules since a description of a dragonborn in the rules state they mostly do not have tails, but there are exceptions as well as the fact that “seducing” someone would be a deception or persuasion check as if I said “I lie to the guards” isn’t me trying to use a skill called “lying.”

      “mostly do not have tails” could mean some of them have tails, or they all have tails but those tails are really small.

    My next Dragonborn is going to be a drake, and walk on all fours. With an iridescent neck like a pigeon, just 'cause.

    We played CoS and my DM did core rule book only, it added to the tension!
