I hope the fans cheer him but I don’t have that much faith in our fan base (besides the enlightened Lemmy users, obviously.)

No idea, but I am with u that I hope he gets a warm welcome. Hopefully the cheering crowd with the non-fans group (ones not knowing what is going on) will outnumber the boos group
Meh, I have no faith in the fanbase to be classy. I don’t think he deserves anything either way. He’s an ex player of no real consequence any more.

Fully agree on the first one. On the ex player, I do hold a soft spot for players who played hard for us. I guess it’s weird to care about someone who doesn’t play for us anymore but to me, it doesn’t seem that much weirder than caring at all about a bunch of millionaires chasing a piece of vulcanized rubber.
