    “In Brazil”, where? Because yeah sure, Brazil has a single weather. /s

    In my city (Curitiba) we got 34°C, today it’s predicted to reach 31°C. Hot but bearable - the city’s climate is a rollercoaster anyway, people are already used to this, it’s kind of expected (10y ago we got snow and a record high temperature 6 months apart). In other places this may vary, I have no idea where they got 58°C heat index but if it’s somewhere like CE, RJ, BA or PA it shouldn’t be a surprise.

    Reporting power outages in Latin America is like reporting meowing cats. Power outages are common, for reasons that go from “nature did the unexpected” to “idiot did the expected”.

    What is more problematic are long-term trends. But the article does not talk about them. Instead it shifts to another subject that I won’t comment on due to my personal ignorance on the subject.
