He said he never wanted to hurt Paul, but still seems to want to kill Nancy.

That basically makes him completely unrepentant. Here’s hoping he finds a shred of humanity in his many, many years behind bars.

I dunno. I Guess OP thinks watching an old man get hit in the head with a hammer is “super awkward”

I think they were referencing those brain dead right wing conspiracies but they’re too afraid to continue their comment.

I’m quite surprised that he was found guilty. In sense that, holy hell, he took this to a jury!?!

I don’t know anything about law but it does seem like politically targeted crimes should carry a harsher sentence in the same way that hate crimes do. It’s not just a violent act, but it’s also an attack on social order and democracy itself.

I’d be very careful about that.

Protest is a political act. Trespassing is a crime. Should someone be sentenced to years in prison for protesting if they step off the sidewalk and onto private property?

You could limit it to violence, but again… There is a lot of potential for abuse.

Can…can we deport me to Canada, in his place?

I promise I have no homicidal tendencies. At least, as much as an American can promise that.

Why? Just so Canada can treat him like a hero the way they do terrorist convicted by the u.s?

          Omar Khadr.

Up here in Canada you can decapitate and cannibalize someone in front of a crowd, and you get a slap on the wrist, some pills and released into the public. Fuck our safety

Us Canadians didn’t treat Omar like a hero, we gave him a settlement for the shit he dealt with at Guantanamo Bay when he was fifteen.

Vince Li was schizophrenic and was in a high-security mental health facility for a while, responded well to his psychiatric treatment and gradually got his freedoms back.

So tell me how you feel a fifteen year old and a schizophrenic person relate to your comment?

If my ass had murdered people at 15 after joining a crime syndicate, I wouldn’t be let out with a paycheck.

And I don’t give a good god damn fuck about Vince li’s “rehab”. Public safety is more important. When you’re off your meds and you murder people, you don’t get to be out in society.

The kid was fifteen fucking years old and locked up in the worst prison in the world for ten years.

                Fifteen fucking years old.

Vince didn’t know he was schizophrenic, he wasn’t off his meds he never was on them.

I’m glad you don’t make the rules because this world would be shittier then it is now.

Was there ever any more brought to light about that super duper awkward video of the arrest, where they were standing around holding drinks while it was occuring?

I’m not trying to fluff up conspiracies, just haven’t heard about that video since it happened

I’m not right wing. I just watched the video months ago and it was super awkward. Seemed less like a home invasion and more like surprised old men coming out of Alzheimer’s delusions.

What video are you talking about? When the cops showed up they were fighting over a hammer and then Pelosi got his head bashed in before the cops immediately arrested Depape

Ya that one. In the video i remember watching, the two were standing around awkwardly with drink in hand when the cops showed up. Then one awkwardly swung a hammer before a little tussle with the cops and then the arrest. I was just asking if any more context came to light, but ended up getting down voted by people who can somehow watch that video and say “yup totally normal” without being any more curious what happened before the door was opened and they started being filmed.

But i guess I can’t ask those questions simply because conservatives with bad takes exist?? Ya okaayyyyyyy
