Steam takes forever to start (5-10s) on AMD ryzen 9 7950x, it’s not automatically started on boot. Closing also takes a few seconds. Could that be due to sloppy programming? I am a programmer myself.

When i start steam, it looks for a client update first, then applies it if there is one.

I think it’s just Steam being Steam. I have the same thing (Arch NVMe)

So, and this is gonna sound insane cause I was always used to the slow start up of the app but.

If you have an internal graphics card and a dedicated one try turning off the internal graphics card in hardware management.

I don’t know if it will work for you but I think it made my boot time for steam to like about a second.
