        Maybe because feddit.de was one of the early country-specific instances? They’ve had more time to recruit and grow.

        No idea, but half the posts on everything past page 6 are in German and Dutch, so I’m not surprised

        I also see a lot of French posts despite them not making the top 10

          Don’t I know it regarding privacy! I like to use Google street view to see what old places I’ve lived look like, and Germany is a big white spot on the map compared to most countries.

    Well not surprising but what would be more interesting IMHO would be a per capita (well or by some multiple, not sure lemmy is popular enough to be per capita stricto sensus) stat… I’m probably a bit biased by the fact I live in a small country…
