Tough call but I’d probably have to go with Dark Cove. Good luck finding one these days that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg though.

Ardbeg day 2016. Yeah I don’t think I’ll ever get the chance to try that one, sadly.

Sorry to do this to you, OP. But It’s Hypernova. Because it’s unreasonably good whisky. And I love that I can give it to someone who says, “I don’t like peated whisky” and at worst they try it and say, “That’s actually not bad. Not my favorite, but…” and at best they decide they just hadn’t had good peated whisky before.

Have you had supernova or is the only relation just the name similarity?

I’ve not had Supernova. Truth be told, I bought Hypernova based solely on the description and the holographic logo on the bottle. It just happily turned out to be an incredible whisky.

Uigeadail hits that perfect sweet spot of flavor, strength, and price. I’ll rotate between the 10, Uigeadail, and Corryvreckan. All of them are good be Uigeadail is the best I’ve had.

Flip side, what do you think is the most overrated Ardbeg?

Of the Ardbegs I’ve tried? Probably An Oa. Just bump up to the 10 instead if those are the only options.

On the other hand, I did just get a bottle of Wee Beastie which I really enjoyed. I think it’s probably the best whiskey in the $40 range.

Sometimes I prefer the 10 over even Corry and Oogie.
