Looks like he had a hair transplant done. Source: a fellow student had it done and after the first healing it looked just like this.

What leadership at OpenAI really regrets is forgetting to double check that Altman had a non-compete in place. It sounds like he is bringing his favorite employees over to Microsoft.

Pretty sure non competes are largely unenforceable, so probably irrelevant.

But how many researchers signed that letter asking the board not to fire Sam?

I don’t think Sam needs to solicit for his staff.

I am still not convinced this wasn’t some kind of setup. I believe they mentioned before that self destruction is a tool in line with their mission.

Ilya joins Sam at Microsoft. There will be no openAI employees on the openai board and 90% of employees leave like they say they will.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Ilya Sutskever, an OpenAI cofounder who’s the company’s chief scientist, has expressed deep regret in being part of the decision to oust Sam Altman.

The blunt statement also said the former CEO “was not consistently candid in his communications with the board, hindering its ability to exercise its responsibilities.”

But the deadline was later extended to 5 p.m. PT Sunday after the board failed to resign and an agreement wasn’t reached, the outlet reported.Less than 24 hours after Altman shared a photo of himself from OpenAI’s office wearing a guest badge, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced Altman was joining Microsoft.

Greg Brockman, the former OpenAI president, is also set to come on board to help lead Microsoft’s “new advanced AI research team,” Nadella said.

Sutskever was one of 490 OpenAI employees who signed an open letter calling for Altman to be reinstated, Wired reported.

It continued: “The leadership team suggested that the most stabilizing path forward — the one that would best serve our mission, company, stakeholders, employees and the public — would be for you to resign and put in place a qualified board that could lead the company forward in stability.”

The original article contains 395 words, the summary contains 191 words. Saved 52%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!
