    Honestly YT is a pain. Is been a couple years i’ve switched to firefox for my pc an smartphone but sometimes I still watch YouTube from my smart TV with the official app, and the number of both skippable and unkippable ads really piss me off. If we add to those the tendency of many channels (who have also patreon) to add their own advertising in the video this get insane.

      The “analysis” was wrong, YouTube isn’t delaying load by 5 seconds. That’s a ridiculous claim to be making. As noted elsewhere, this script segment attempts to load content after 5 seconds to attempt to circumvent and/or detect ad blockers.

      Edit: the reddit thread is more foolish, omg. Like, people haven’t even googled what the function does. smh
