Hanover County school administrators on Friday instructed teachers and librarians to remove a list of 75 books from shelves, including an array of well-known titles.

What’s happening: “The Handmaid’s Tale,” “Slaughter House 5,” and “Wicked” (yes, the one about the witch in the “Wizard of Oz”) are among the books the Hanover School Board flagged for removal.

    Totally get why they’d pull “The Handmaid’s Tale.” They’re shielding those kids from those 2025 spoilers.

    Huh, slaughterhouse 5 was required reading when I was in high school. Could just be because I went to school in Indiana where the author is from though.

      I remember friends in high school having to read it for honors English. This was in Washington state

    Honestly not surprised. Don’t worry though eventually the rich folks in Henrico will annex them too.
