Some of the main boards on sale are effectively i7 SBCs. I’ll give you that they’re quite large for an SBC but for less than $400 that’s still quite good.
$300 doesn’t get you ram or storage but I actually grabbed the board a few days ago with an eye towards making a cyberdeck. It has got a lot of Open source schematics for designing 3d printed cases
Have you seen the project on the framework forums for joycon expansion cards?
I have not. I’m not looking to make a steam deck or similar though: I’ve got a pair of nreal air glasses to use as a monitor. I’m just going for 0 display laptop: old-school cyberdeck style.
Does anyone know if the cmos battery issue affects the 11th gen mainboards or was that issue on the older motherboards?
I love the transparency about which product lines will continue our retire. It feels like they’re bringing the sustainability I get from desktops into the laptop space.
