The grandest factory sim ever made

They wrote Factorio wrong. Don’t get me wrong, DSP is amazing, but Factorio is the titleholder.

“Grandest” is not a synonym for “best”. The sheer scale of the things you can build in DSP makes it grander than any other game I can think of in any genre, and that description doesn’t speak to the quality of the game.

That’s a fair interpretation. And although Factorio does have the Space Exploration mod that kinda makes the scale more comparable, you probably still aren’t building at the same scale as DSP.

Well, “grandest” can be synonymous to “best”. When I saw that it’s about DSP, I also thought, that’s a weirdly strong opinion about such a niche game. Only then, after rereading the title, did I realize, it’s the scale interpretation of “grand”.

Ive tried to get into DSP several times, and I just can’t. I’ve wasted thousands of hours in Factorio and Satisfactory, but DSP bores me for some reason.

They all hit differently for me.

Satisfactory is the most immersive, being first person and really feeling like you’re building this world.

Factorio feels like I’m a manager. I want to min-max everything, every corner.

DSP feels like I’m playing StarCraft, in a very positive way. Just creeping outwards.

One of those weird moments where I really can’t choose if I had to rank. Because I will keep changing my answer depending on how I feel.

Noooo… stoooop! As someone who enjoys factory building games this is pulling at my wallet…

    Kinda conflicting for me.

I actually stopped playing DSP because I kinda felt after a couple of colored cubes and hitting a specific tier, it’s a bunch of the same. And I stopped playing.

But then, do I want combat in a game like this?

Maybe this is what finally sucks me in for another 200+ hours.
