I am very glad that these raids against these fascist assholes are happening.

With how everything is moving to the right and far right, AfD at all time highs, cases against right wing assholes being ignored, dropped or never even taken, police and military being undermined and having plenty of these assholes in their own ranks, it is good to see action being taken.

Their thoughts and beliefs aren’t fringe anymore. They’ve made it well and truly into the middle of society in all German speaking countries. It went so far that I had to keep copies of the instructions on how to deal with these idiots, on my work PC because I have heard this kind of rethoric from our CEO.

It’s insanity. I hate that conspiracy beliefs have become perfectly acceptable to such a large part of societies everywhere.

Yeah, but I don’t think this will change anything. It’s clear that especially afd is full of these antidemocratic, fascist hags and still CDU is actively flirting with them AND their ideas.

Germany is very likely to have the far right back in the government within the next 8 years. When that happens these people won’t act in the underground anymore.

I am well aware and you are right. But it is a sign that hope isn’t entirely lost just yet. A lot of modern right wing nutjobs are as stupid as they are racist. So their movements might lose important figures to law enforcement before they gain that unstoppable mass.

Then again, looking at the Netherlands and almost any country around us, might be closer than we think and time might already be up.

I know it’s not meant to be funny but Reichsbürger has got to be the most German word ever.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

The so-called Reichsbürger movement has attracted growing support from different areas of the anti-government and far-right ecosystem.

German authorities announced on Thursday they were searching 20 homes belonging to suspected far-right conspiracy plotters whom they say were planning to “destabilise” the communications of state administrations.

The people targeted are suspected of belonging to the far-right Reichsbürger movement, which brings together various groups of conspiracy theorists and extremists who do not recognise the legitimacy of German institutions.

The Reichsbürger movement has existed since the 1980s, but gained new momentum in reaction to the health restrictions linked to the Covid-19 pandemic.

In December 2022, the authorities dismantled an armed group of the same persuasion that had set itself the goal of overthrowing Germany’s democratic institutions.

Other Reichsbürger members are more conspiratorial and reactionary in their thinking, rejecting modern state structures and refusing to pay taxes, take part in a census, or carry ID cards.
