Thanks for everything RIF. You made Reddit usable, and, well…fun. Going to miss it, and without RIF I will simply not be using reddit anymore on mobile. I refuse to use the official app, I’d rather just fill that time with something else. Good luck in your future endeavours, RIF team.
Tomorrow I know my muscle memory will click the rif icon on my phone. Deleting rif just feels wrong to me.
Put a Lemmy app where the RIF icon used to be. That’s what I did, although I still have RIF on my second home screen. Gonna keep it installed until the end, which won’t be long now.
It appears to me the end has come. Reddit is fun no longer loads anything and gives me a 429 error. It’s sad to lose it after all this time…
That being said I won’t be uninstalling it. I just can’t. Maybe I won’t go out of my way to install it on my next phone, but it’s staying on this one for the foreseeable future.
Edit: I haven’t been using it because I wanted to give him the ad revenue and all, but golden platinum has not shut down yet. I suppose he’s leaving that one up until the very last second as a thank you to those of us who purchased.
The end is here. 429 error 😔
let my first post on Lemmy be a salute to rif, you filled so many hours spent shitting my brains out o7 Edit: shitting, not sitting, well I suppose both
Welcome to Lemmy!
Same here. My first Lemmy post right here. Thank you RIF. You were great.
Same; I’m keeping it there as a guidepost to remind me to try new things instead of reaching for Reddit.
I feel the same way about Apollo. But I quit using it when the blackout happened.
It was a rough transition, but Lemmy has been getting a lot better over time.
upward and onward!

Lying here in bed, using Reddit to fall asleep like usual, and I realize it’s the last day I’ll do that.
It’s sad.
Dunno if lemmy or tildes is better… Will be trying to get used to both I guess.
Oh Reddit, I can feel The soil falling over my head And as I climb into an empty bed Oh well, enough said
I know it’s over
I was around for the first year of rif. If talklittle is going lemmy so will I.
Started using it in 2013, end of an era
