Looked up all of the comics from my childhood and they are essentially worthless. In the early days of comic book collection the rarity caused a gold rush that was never gonna be repeated again thanks to mass production. Same thing goes for pretty much any collectables now (cards, toys etc)

It cracks me up that he says that they stole thousands of books and then the site reports that it was $4000 in goods. Comics really aren’t as valuable as I would have guessed in a digital world.
In that theft, the big book they namecheck is Fantastic Four #48, which is the first Silver Surfer / first Galactus.
Depending on condition, it’s a solid several hundred dollar book with graded versions into the low thousands.
Even worse… that means that the “thousands” of other books were essentially worthless.
