It really seems like the Warriors front office has derailed after so many years of solid moves.

Especially with the player option. Though I suppose $25m will be a small contract four years from now.

That’s a longer term than I expected, i guess they think they can still win this season, maybe the one after.

“Free agent forward Draymond Green has agreed to a four-year, $100 million contract with a player option in the final season to re-sign with the Golden State Warriors on the first day of free agency, sources tell ESPN’s Andscape. Green, Stephen Curry & Klay Thompson stay together.”

per Marc J. Spears, on Twitter.

4 years with a player option is definitely a longer contract than I expected, Klutch putting in work

I figured he was gone after the shit with Poole. I know Poole is gone, but I figured they wouldn’t want that toxicity on the team any more.

Figured it was kind of a legacy contract, plus he’s still a very smart player on the court and an incredible defender+decent playmaker. He also knows Kerr’s system inside and out. I can see why they did this.

I appreciate teams rewarding loyalty but it sort of feels like an overpay on the backend to me. He’s 33 now and not exactly a player known for peak fitness.

This salary puts him in top 60 highest paid at the moment. I know cap will go up and he’ll drop on this list but still we might look at the last 2 years of this contract as an anchor killing their ability to compete.
