    Thanks for these threads!

I received a package containing a Yuxin Curvy Compino and a couple of Meilong 4Ms. A friend also gave me a Polaris Cube.

The Curvy Compino and Polaris Cube are fun puzzles, though not particularly difficult. The Meilong 4M is my first magnetic 4x4, so I don’t have much to compare it too, but I’m pleased with it so far.

The Polaris Cube looks very scary once scrambled. In order to solve the little pieces between the corner and the center, it’s as easy as RLR’L’ a couple of times, or do you use more advanced commutators?

I saw someone playing with a Polaris at a comp and I couldn’t even figure out what I was looking at. The pieces are so foreign

Not exactly sure what corresponds to “R” and “L” on an 8-axis puzzle, but a simple four-move commutator will cycle three of the little pieces. If you can solve a Skewb and a Dino Cube, you should be able to solve the Polaris Cube.

    Beep boop, hello~

I’m getting back into cubing after a friend convinced me. Finally starting to learn full PLL — that’s where I am with it right now. Trying to develop a mnemonic system for the longer algs so I don’t just forget them.

I did get some god-tier luck yesterday and hit a 20.84 single. Got cross + 1 on a platter, then easy OLL, then H-perm. Four-second PB.

I also picked up a square-1 because why not. I’m still getting the hang of the notation, but it’s really, really cool.

Square-1 is great fun! It took me quite some effort with the notations but it’s fun to turn. I need to practice a lot more though to be able to go under time limit at comps.

I think I got the Square-1 just a little bit before I tried Megaminx and I really enjoy both of them.

    I won a GAN251 M Pro on a giveaway. I should receive it this week. I can’t wait to see why a 2x2x2 cost 30€…

Well, there is a lot of magnets + customizations, but for someone who is just toying/fidgeting with cubes, I can fathom why you’d want to buy a cube so expensive if you don’t do competitions.

    Anyway, it’s Christmas before time.

I think even if you do comps, that’s just way too expensive for a 2x2.
