I want them to do an origin story like from the book “HALO: The Fall of Reach”. Just thinking about seeing that book play out as a game tickles me so. This is of course after updating it to be canon accurate.
Anytime anyone asks me for a book suggestion I almost always preface it with “I know it’s based on a video game but trust me…” And then suggest the fall of reach. SUCH an awesome book. I would absolutely love to see a game of this. I was so disappointed that the new show didn’t include any of this stuff (also that it was a giant flaming pile of dog shit)
Halo is especially dissapinting with the tlou show in mind, as it’s practically the game in series form. The most they do is cut gameplay segments where Joel and Ellie slay a million goobers and shuffle important scene timings/locations, but it’s really good.
Yeah, this series really deserved to be so much more than the reputation it has currently. Half of me wishes it just died back then and could keep it’s rightful spot at the helm of story driven FPS games. I’m so hungry for more gaming content from this universe. Such a shame 343 couldn’t pull it together after all these years.
It’s incredibly frustrating to see so little content in the video game space for an IP with so much lore behind it. 343i is sitting on a literal gold mine and just shitting all over it.
I would 100% play a Fall of Reach game. I just finished the book recently and loved it, plenty of great moments that I’d love to play through!
If I knew how to mod Halo: Reach, I’d love to remake the Fall of Reach as a campaign
