Manila Zoo’s resident elephant Vishwa Ma’ali, better known as Mali, passed away on Tuesday, according to the Manila Public Information Office.

    I remember when I was front-riding the jeep in Makati back in 2013, Caucasian activists personally handed me a leaflet asking for her release. As much as I’m against zoos, it’s true that moving her out at her age wouldn’t end well.
