They’re upping the price of ramen to $9 per pack to make up for lost profits.
Mmm nothing like working 10+ hours at $0.36/hr at the prison laundry to buy a single pack of ramen from the commissary. Then not having hot water to properly cook it.
Simple! Just grab some of the hot water out of the wash!

Spent a couple days in county and calling outbound to beg for help was my only respite. That and an old Tom Clancy novel a guy let me have.
Don’t get me started on denying prisoners books.
One time, I knew my probation officer was going to lock me up. I think I gave a hot urine or something equally stupid. Anyway, with the thought of county in my mind, I headed to the PO office with a backpack full of books. I hoped they would let me keep them with me when I got booked. Suprisingly, they let me keep all the books with me! When I got released, I gave the books away to the other inmates. I hope they’re still being passed around in there.

Reading is probably what got you put in jail in the first place! Dang reading and those dangerous and crazy ideas you get! /s
My credit card got stolen and the only charges were calls from a prison and I wasn’t even mad.
