He was known for his practice of “realpolitik” — engaging with the world based on practical objectives rather than moral ideals — and was credited with the secret diplomacy that helped thaw U.S. relations with China. But he was also accused of alleged war crimes for the bombing of Cambodia during the Vietnam War, backing Pakistan’s genocide in Bangladesh, and green-lighting the Argentine dictatorship’s “dirty war” against dissidents.

This is the best summary I could come up with: Henry Kissinger, war criminal and complete piece of garbage, finally died. The world is a better place now.

Living to 100 was a pretty big “fuck you” though :\

His death will not bring the thousands of families he’s murdered.

I hope his death was painful.

It wasn’t. The bastard got away with all of it. Not a single price did he pay. He lived a long and comfortable life with his ill-gotten gains, and finally faded away into oblivion. The end.

Are we supposed to pretend the Nobel Peace Prize means anything? This headline and the entire concept of Henry Kissinger (among others) being a global representative of peace is like the purest imaginable rendition of Orwellian doublespeak bullshit, such that it feels like my head should just explode.

This is one case where I think it’s perfectly legitimate to downvote simply based on the headline.

TIL Henry Kissinger was still alive. I would’ve guessed he’d died in the 90s.
