I think I waited almost four weeks for my data from reddit, only to find out that for each post I saved, they only put a permalink in the csv file. This is obviously not what I wanted.
Is there any way to save the actual posts?
They should have given you the actual data, not the permalinks to the data. If you’re in a jurisdiction that requires by law that they need to make your data available, then they’re in violation of that. Consider taking legal action.
As for saving the data, that’s mostly trivial for anyone who knows how to write simple scrapping code. But again, this shouldn’t be needed, as the data itself should have been provided, not links.
Thanks! Just to be clear, this only affects saved comments/posts, so stuff I did not write myself. Everything else seems to be okay, meaning my own comments, posts etc. are saved as actual data.
Oh, I see. In that case, they did all as they needed to. You might want look for a script to scrap that data then.
