I’m optimistic, but I mean, we did get burned on a few other goalie deals recently.
I am also optimistic! I did like reading about the things that Korpisalo was saying about Forsberg. Hopefully between the two of them we can make it through to December still in decent contention.
After the last few years of goalie woes I don’t think I’ll trust again until a goalie actually starts consistently keeping us in or winning games. Love Forsy and like Korpisalo, but goalie program doesn’t deserve and blind faith any more. Prove it or lose it.
I think our goalie coaches or goaltending systems need a complete overhaul. The amount of goalies that come through our team, only to hit their stride immediately after we trade them away (see: Bishop, Elliott, Lehner, Gustavsson) is crazy.
Not super stoked about this move personally. It’ll be nice if it works out, but history has shown that us picking up a middle of the pack goaltender during free agancy doesn’t usually pay off.
This is a contract that will hamstring us through some important extension negotiations. Not a fan, but I hope he proves me wrong.
