I saw on GitHub that dark mode is included in the app but I can’t find it anywhere in the settings. Does anyone know how to turn it on or is just something that will come in later updates?

I had dark mode on by default because my phone is set to dark mode.

Currently the app just follows your system setting, but there’s a pull request in the works to add the option to set it manually as well.
Maybe its controlled via the system mode? I have darkmode enabled via system preferences and the app is thus also in darkmode
