I’ve been trying to find a fun little coding project to help me learn, and I remembered the word clouds sometime used to do on the old /gunners for the match threads. After a few hours getting setup tonight I’ve got a python script that takes a Lemmy instance, a post id and the number of comments and creates a word cloud.
Hopefully tomorrow night I get the chance to finish it. I need to make it pretty, and finalise the list of pointless words that can be excluded.
I think the most common words from the Luton game will be Kai and Raya lol.
I think we’ll see a bit of “penalty” or “ref” lol

I get that James Madison’s comment about Rice was probably tongue in cheek. But eesh, it really doesn’t reflect well on him IMO. I’m hoping it’s some sort of sly dig at himself and how he seemed to only join the spuds to escape Leicester (likely after he knew a deal to join us was off the table).

It’s probably just empty banter or a tongue-in-cheek joke. But considering Madison had previously said he hated Gareth Bale and insinuated bad things about spurs, and then had to scrub his social media accounts of those when he joined the spuds, it’s pretty cringe.
Gotta agree with patchy eyes on this one - I think you might be reading into it a bit too far (understandable given the Bale incident). The Bale incident was different to me as it was actually targeted, disparaging to a club that he had just signed for and a really specific insult to a currently active player.
Making a comment like that about Rice is the opposite, not even banter but actually a sign of respect. The implication is “I wish he was playing on my team, and not my team’s biggest rival”.
All I can see is Madison “hates that he plays for Arsenal” but that’s just headlines. It doesn’t seem that offensive to me and the headlines usually make it worse than it is anyway.
I made a separate comment, but yes I think it’s more of a respectful “I wish he played for us instead” and not hate in the literal sense.
Really want a kids XI against PSV but Mikel is a cunt in terms of team selection. Takehiro needs to return within 2 weeks for him to play at Anfield.
Just had a thought about the keeper situation. IIRC, Inaki Cana was the primary instigator for bringing in Raya *and* Runnarson.
That’s a small sample size, but it make me wonder about his ability to evaluate keepers.
To be fair, I think Raya is good. Just not convinced he’s good enough to be 30 million and controversy lol
I personally hope we don’t make the move permanent, and Ramsdale is back starting next season better than ever.
