I’m trying to better myself and learn another language, particularly French, in what spare time I have. Is there a language learning program that you would recommend? I’ve been using the trial of Pimsleur but feel there may be better options.
.
Personally I’ve found DuoLingo does a good job. No language learning software will take you all the way though, you need to read and listen to that languages literature and TV as well. Basically immersing yourself in it is the best way, and if you don’t use it you’ll lose it.
Agreed - Duo has been helpful for practice to keep up on structures / vocab. Good time killer, too.
Piggybacking on the immersion front, I recommend finding as much French language media - music, movies, TV, games - as you can. All of my ESL friends say that’s the main way they learned English.
Anki for flash cards and YouTube for comprehensible input.
There’s a new app called “Glisten” that helps you learn by having you listen to podcasts.

Similar to DuoLingo, but I’ve heard people say good things about Drops.
I’ve heard good things about Learning With Texts. Some assembly required.
