Another thing I want to do without right clicking and selecting a context menu item, it would be faster. While there’s a hotkey for bookmarking all open tabs, I only want to bookmark the ones selected.
I don’t think so. But arguably the normal “bookmark active tab” hotkey should actually be “bookmark selected tabs”, because why would you select multiple tabs and then expect a hotkey to only bookmark one of them.
So I’d say you should create a new bug requesting this feature.
Where should I report it, bugzilla or connect.mozilla.org? If Bugzilla, would it actually be worked on or would it be considered the wrong place?
I would just file it to bugzilla. I suppose connect might also work though. Of course I can’t promise it would actually be worked on, but it wouldn’t be because it’s in wrong place, but because it won’t be a big priority change. After all, you are looking for a pretty niche behavior not many people would ever use.
- I actually found a report filed two years ago: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1724745
- I decided to also post it on connect: https://connect.mozilla.org/t5/ideas/cmd-d-ctrl-d-should-bookmark-all-selected-tabs-when-multiple-are/idi-p/47257#M27421
Cool. So the bug found is about a bit more than just hotkey though. And I’d have to agree with what was mentioned there, that then menu items around the UI should also then bookmark all selected tabs which then becomes a bit more complicated.
