I am rather annoyed having just come here.
All I see is porn, every kind imagineable it seems. And most isn’t marked as Nsfw. This make this site very unappealing to me as I can’t just scroll info in public without looking like a creep.
I’m not against porn in general, it’s just too much of it.
Can we get some content going?

To be fair, I have NSFW blocked on the web and in each app I use. I don’t subscribe to any communities that would include that type of content.
If you change the filter from “Subscribed” or “Local” to “All”, there definitely is some.
I’m on All 90% of the time (sorting by New) on wefwef.app or Liftoff and I very rarely see porn. I even made an account on lemmynswf just to see some. For research, of course.
Turn off nsfw in your profile. I really don’t see porn much unless I seek it out.
Are you in the “All” view? You could go to your “Subscribed” view and then you’ll only see content from the communities you have deliberately chosen to follow.
Another (somewhat tedious) option is to go to the sidebar of the community of the offending posts and click “block community”. That should hide that entire community from any of your views.
That’s exactly the solution I have employed. Just block commute cities constantly.
Not to be high maintenance, I just like searching all. That way I find all sorts of new communities to join and keep up on new things.
I just wish the porn in my feed was, just… Less.
As people have said, check your settings and make sure you’ve turned off nsfw. I see zero porn anywhere, including when searching All. If you aren’t using one of the Lemmy apps, too, I would look into those - that might make a difference as well since you can kinds of fine tune settings on some.
Yes, especially now in the beginning when we haven’t found our favorites yet, “All” is the place to go for discovery.
What app are you using? Liftoff has a hide nfsw function.

Yes, I have it set to blur Nsfw.
But that just leads to many blurred posts, and like I said, most aren’t even tagged as Nsfw.
I don’t want to have to avoid all Nsfw, just the constant nudity that is gratuitous at this point.

I definitely have Show NSFW enabled and I’ve not seen a single bit of porn yet.
why is lemmy filled with porn?
The internet is for porn but you can block NSFW posts in your account settings.
I have a lemmy account for SFW stuff with the NSFW stuff hidden and another lemmy account for porn on the lemmynsfw.com instance.
Funny enough I’ve started blocking SFW communities that now show up over there because apparently there are insane people who created a porn account on lemmynsfw.com and decided they still want posts from /c/politics on lemmy.world to show up in their feed of furry porn, anime hentai, and celebrity feet.
I see no porn. I deselected “show nsfw” for now, and I have not seen much unmarked porn.
You may have a better experience by choosing an instance that doesn’t allow NSFW post…or keep the OG one as your alt and make a new one on another instance.
Some instances block NSFW generally, feddit.de for example. Even if I want to, I won’t ever see porn inside the fediverse.

As others have stated, might be best to go into your profile and blur/not show NSFW content in the meantime. This may, the very least, limit how much NSFW content shows up for you.
I’ve found that if I disable NSFW in my profile I don’t see any.
